Week 13 - Topic 3 (dig in the archive)

In february 2009 I had an important business meeting in London and because of the extreme weather being forecasted I was advised to go a day early. So I was planning to explore London and set up a meeting with Bob J for the end of the afternoon, after he was done with work. However the bad weather came earlier and was even more extreme so Bob's work was closed and we could basically spend a day together walking along the Thames in one of the biggest snowstorms I had experienced.

This shot is from Bank station after the Dyxum minimeet going back to my hotel. Obviously the newspapers with the London Snow Chaos are long sold and thrown away, but Bob and my pictures from that day can still be seen here. Only Photobucket seems to have turned Bob's photos 90 degrees, but for the rest they give a good impression of what we encountered in our walk and warming up in the pub afterwards. So here the "dig" brought back a lot of good memories

I was in Dublin during the snow Chaos to attend to my cousins wedding.
Half of the guests almost didnít make it there in time due to airport closed down!
Also had a mini meet with a Dyxum member, canít remember his name. We almost got stuck with his car in the wick willows (?) since he only had summer tires.
Might be some shot from that trip in two weeks when Iím entering 2009

@pegelli

That Fort de la Chartreuse gate is rather colourful. I wonder what it would look like without the graffiti?

The Shanghai shot is also very, very China. I remember going up the Oriental Pearl Tower in one of my visits there and being disappointed that the spectacular views were largely blocked by the smog.

Well, you'll be hard pressed to find one square centimeter without graffiti in Fort de la Chartreuse, it's a well known "Urbex for beginners" location that is open to the public, so the graffiti and junk there is just a fact of life.

And I agree on Shanghai, from 2009 to 2014 I've been there several times per year and must say I've hardly seen blue sky in any of these visits.

Week 15 - Topic 2 (vintage digital macro)

This week I used a third (old) macro lens, a Sigma 105/2.8 with stripped gears, so MF only. Very fitting to use this lens now since also day 105 falls in week 15

Thanks Manfred, it's definitely spring here and that snow was gone in a half hour.

And if you ever have time to visit here again we can visit this urbex location from 14 - 1 (if it's still there), very worthwhile and I'll definitely go back for a whole day later this year.
