Week 5 was a bust for me, but I did learn a lot more on how to use Final Cut Pro.
So for Week 6, my creative effort is a short video clip (3.30 mins) Riding in the Rain It's a selection of short clips commuting to work on bicycle. New things are a LUT for colour effect, title (I know...small steps), some trimming and joining via cross fades. (Apologies for the horrible noise in first segment- I had some grit caught between the brake-pad and rim, which washed out quickly but, the microphone really didn't like it) Edited by Wētāpunga - 11 February 2021 at 00:50 |

Thanks @Maffe- it took a surprising number of shots to get something that worked. I was however, pleasantly surprised at how good the Batis 85 was |

I really like "Sunset at Muriwai Takapu Colony", the foreground, birds, sunset/star all fit together nicely.

I love the detail in that spider shot, from an A100 too. Do you still have that camera, use it anymore?

@ADub128
Thanks, the a100 had quite a nice sensor for macro photography (CCD not CMOS) but I sold it long ago to get an a700. The painfully hard thing about the camera was the small OVF. I think however, this is shows the importance of lighting. In some ways nocturnal photography is easier because you provide the only light, so have complete control. The shot benefited from a (green) fence behind the spider that reflected some of the light back. @onsplekkie It is a very striking native spider. And a little obsessive. She makes a new web each night. @pegelli Nga mihi. I'm hoping to do some more nocturnal photography of our native arthropods- but probably later in the year. Summer means it gets dark too late. |
