If the mime artist was in focus it would be a cracking shot but even with him oof I can still see the image you were tying to make... I think this one shows that something was 'seen' by the maker (you), it's not supposed to be a set shot, it is supposed to be 'decisive' - I think this one can pass!!!!

Hi Val,
My AV software percieved an attack after clicking on your link. Here is the link to the image only without the redirect to imageshack. ![]() You may want to check out this thread for further information. I'm not quite sure this would qualify as a "decisive moment" as Cartier-Bresson used the phrase, but this is a very subjective assessment. This may be one of the reasons why this assignment has not yet been implemented in the "New" assignments. I'd encourage you to post your question in the Open View forum where it will be more likely to be viewed by the forum membership. And... Welcome to Dyxum! Cheers... Brian |

this one took some time because of the subject, birds
went out every evening looking for birds in flight almost ran over this hawk and its pray in the street. it flew to a nearby hillside where i got this decisive moment ![]() what do you all think. (photo was taken on the shady side of the hill) I cropped and sharpened |

@Maddmack: Great catch! (for both of you) However, this assignment is no longer on the "active" list. There is a similar assignment planned for the "NEW Assignments", but we have not implemented it yet. The decisive moment assignment has always been tough to judge since the interpretation is very subjective. My take on it is that it has to do with the subject at the point of a desicion and applies most often to human subjects. We will be sure to announce new assignments as they are brought online. Please see here for the current list.
Cheers... Brian |
