It's been a long time since I last went on a Photowalk, so when the Oxford Flickr Group announced they were restarting their 3rd Thursday walk and pub meet I decided to make the effort. A real bonus was meeting in the flesh new friends made in zoom meetings in the past months.

I live outside Oxford so I drove up to the Park & Ride on my side of the city and hopped on a bus into the centre.

1. Bus journey

Arriving in the City I noticed this structure - which I suppose has a purpose, even if it is just to decorate.

2. Westgate Roof

After a bit of shopping I met up with the group outside the Ashmolean Museum - by which time the sun had set. A Dyxum Mini-meet element was completed when Howard_S arrived clutching his A900.

We set off into Gloucester Green where street food is the order of the day.

3. Food stall.

Our presence was noted by 'security' in the guise of Ricardo - a very cheerful chap.

4. Ricardo

I like shots from outside, looking in - and the light was pretty good for such shots.

5. Côte.

6. Four Candles - I wonder how many of our international membership get the comedy reference here?

Walking up an alley that I ought to know the name of (but don't) I spotted people sat on the castle mound watching the sunset. By the time we got closer and I had changed to the longest lens I had with me (85/1.4) the red had faded from the sky so I was glad I snapped this shot with the 50/1.4, and that the A99ii gives plenty of scope for cropping.

7. Sunset View

It is quite strange walking around in a group of photographers snapping away - but my companions did offer photo opportunities.

8. John.

A new art installation outside the Blavatnik Building drew my attention.

9. Pen.

As did the views into the building.

10. Reading

11. Dining

Finally we made it to the pub. Sadly I had to leave before being tempted to overindulge (I was driving). I took this shot as I left for the long walk to the bus stop (about 30 metres).

12. The Royal Oak

Very nice set, Phil. I share your enthusiasm on shouts looking in from outside, especially when there's a nice balance of light between indoors and out, that's what makes them special. That said my favorite is number 10 even if it doesn't show the outdoor surroundings.
I detest bugs, especially spiders.

Some very nice shots here Phil!
Indeed, #10 is the standout, followed by #2 and 5 for me.
Looking forward to the Benelux DM photowalk in Dordrecht next week!

Thanks Phil! You're more than welcome . We're hoping the weather will be better than the current forecast.
It would be nice to meet my fellow Dyxum member from the UK (and other parts of the world of course)
