greetings from lockdown.
an overdue set from an october visit to the plitvice national park in croatia, were we spent a whole day getting thoroughly drenched by persistent rain - so maybe not the best quality pictures, but a different aspect of the park from the traditional postcards.

#1 we started from the upper lakes that were mostly obscured by fog/mist

#2 one of the first waterfalls, through the tele

#3 the trail follows some of the numerous water courses tumbling down to the lower basins

#4 the tripod helped for some longer exposures

#5 plenty of tourists even on a rainy day

#6 hanging trees

#7 the most spectacular waterfall in the park

#8 unfortunately the moment the light drizzle transformed into heavy rain

#9 something green

#10 emerald basin

#11 the pink umbrella

#12 the rain eased a little on the lower lakes

#13 almost a canyon (small)

#14 a gorge

#15 and a few people for scale

What a beautiful set from this spectacular place. As you say, quite a different take on the usual bright sunny images that are on the website or in postcards.
The mists and autumn colours are wonderful, and the turquoise water is as always.
Hard to choose favourites.
Thanks for sharing.

"Bad weather makes for good photographs." And, #7 especially lives up to this with the mist adding quite a bit to a wonderfully composed image. The tall trees near the left edge of the frame would have not been included by most photographers and greatly enhance the total feel of the image and increase the depth of the image by revealing those distant trees with the mist more evident in front of them. A detail I love - the hawk's or eagle's nest, I presume, in the tree near the left edge of the falls.
