I like the strong contrast and the loss of detail in the skin, two things I usually don't like. It simplifies the image and helps focus the attention on the captivating eyes.

@ijsvogel: I really like the softness and low contrast of this image. I feel like the bright, sharp, higher contrast area of hair on the left is out of place, like it's part of a different picture.
