Just getting started, many more to come! Mr. Rockwell, I believe, is somewhat controversial and iconoclastic. I just like the quote.

I know good ol' Ken has a bit of a mixed reputation but I'm with Roger here. That's a pretty nice way of putting it.

Good Ol' Ken is at all the Sony press events, it seems Sony takes him serious...

I am sure Jonathan Swift wasn't talking about a different kind of vision, but it works for photographical vision at least as well I am waiting for more HCB and for Ludwig Wittgenstein

I call him Kane Rosenwinkle (like Charles Foster Kane from the movie Citizen Kane); he does come up with nuggets of wisdom (like Roger found), it just takes a lot of reading through all the BS to "find the treasure among the trash" (another quotation, perhaps applicable to photography?!! LOL)....
There is a difference between a shaky or out-of-focus photograph and a snapshot of clouds and fog banks. - Schrödinger

He has a way with words, but for the careful reader, there is a lot of information. When you understand he has a tendency to exaggerate things, he actually gives a lot of information. He is my to go source for information on (old) Nikon or Leica lenses..... And I think he is (mostly) correct when he says P is for Professional!

"I should be able to look down at my feet and find something to photograph." Edward Weston

"It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see." Henry David Thoreau

"The great geniuses are those who have kept their childlike spirit and have added to it breadth of vision and experience." Alfred Stieglitz
(This is one of my all-time favorites. I find it to be extraordinarily true. At seventy-seven I find the greatest hindrance to my photography are the blinders to seeing that have come with age, the lack of keen interest in examining and seeing things in a childlike way).

"The more you have in the picture, the less drama you get. The details start to take over, the mystery is gone." Jay Maisel

"A few words about the question of whether photography is art or not: I never understood the question." Edward Weston.
