I like most quotes but I don't understand the photography connection with this one:
"Sometimes you have to be able to listen to yourself and be okay with no one else understanding." Christopher Barzak

To me it clearly is an writers statement, I had to google him and he is an author, like I thought. But, you consider this to be a "quotation about photography" - can you elaborate?

I have amended my initial post, admittedly a bit awkwardly, to indicate that some quotes can be related to photography, not necessarily about photography (thanks for pointing out that omission).

It's a quote about creativity, experimentation, and not trying to do something because other folks will like it - that's not a good motivation in terms of creativity. Just one man's, that's me, opinion, however. Photography can be one of the creative arts and, therefore, it can have characteristics in common with other visual and performing arts and with the language arts of poetry and writing.

You took the quotation literally, I did not - just a difference in perception and use.

Thank you for your explanation.

You basically argue that the quotation is about art and therefore also about photography. But photography is a visual art, writing is not. That is a big difference in my opinion.

I don't think I only look at the quotation literally, just not convinced it is about photography. But reasonable people can disagree. It is a nice life lesson though!

Once again thanks for these quotations and the explanation.

I changed the wording in the initial post to ".. quotes about or that can be related to photography ..." (emphasis added)
