Went to the nearby circuit of 'Assen' this weekend to visit a racing festival. Next to the panning shots I tried to capture some other 'on track' action. All shot with my 80-200mm APO black and the 850 body.

2) Fiesta at speed:

3) Passing (some annoying graining / noise in the picture):

4) Big boys toys - Torro Rosso TR01 F1 (BOSS GP class):

6) Big boys toys - Benneton B197 F1 (BOSS GP class):

7) Obligated rubber burning (Jack Aitken - Renault F1 team):

8) GT corner - favourite passing spot (European TCR cup):

9) Jaguar at low shutter speed 1/20sec (Classic cup):

10) Volvo at low shutter speed 1/20sec (Classic cup):

11) Healey on fire (Classic cup):

Some wonderful shots!
9 & 10 are interesting because of the sharp numbers but blurred edges. Interesting.

Some very good images here.
I find it rather puzzling that in a couple of your slow shutter panned shots (#9 and #10) it is only the central part of the subject that's in focus, whereas the cars are blurred at their noses and tails.
I would have expected them all to have been like #11, with the panned car in focus against the motion-blurred background.

Very cool set! Excellent panning technique on beautiful machines.
I detest bugs, especially spiders.
