Super photos everyone!

Domien, your tram photo almost looks like made with film!
Pieter and Fred also very nice classic trams!
Joe, were you there (NNRY) again recently, or are those old ones. No. 40 weas due for major overhaul and boiler re-certification.   If you were there recently did you notice how far along they were with No. 81? Anyway, very nice photos! Have you moved yet?

Kind regards,

Kelly

All these pictures of vintage trams made me to dig my archives too (it is possible that I've posted some of these photos once upon a time).

1. This is actually a replica of Brändö Sparvägs Ab 1 (from 1917)

2. Even older museum tram (from 1909!)

3. With an open trailer car!

Hello Kelly,
great hearing from you. Thats just a previous unposted photo. The 4014 Ogden trip will have to suffice me for a while. Although it should be the "Trip of a Lifetime". I went to their NNRY webpage and subscribed, I love the place so much. It looks like they are making the most of their situation. Offering fantastic outings like, Starry night, night trips, Overnight in the Yard experience in a caboose. Wow! put me down for either one of those. The problem is folks have no idea how remote the place is from any direction, You really have to be dedicated to go there. I don't think I'll be there for a while. I can't imagine a trip that would equal or surpass the one I had

I do have some pics of #81
It looked like it needed a lot of Love and Care, Seems to be getting it 💜

It would be great if they could have these 3 engines running. In my mind the classic "old-time" work engines that built America

I have run into what into I think is a treasure trove of train photos, I've just taken. Maybe not the usual stuff.

Anyway, I'll leave you guys w my quintessential #40 shot "The Ghost Train"! (glare and all)

Nevada Northern RRY, Ely Nevada US

and yes Kelly, I have escaped San Francisco!
if you see my profile on the left, it no longer says NorCal, But Southwest

As far as I know, these are some of the few, maybe the only, 2 logging mallets built in this configuration 2662, at least by Baldwin, Philadelphia still in existence. Built in 1929
The Black Hills one is working doing tours in South Dakota

the one below is in a little museum in Arizona, where it is the only train. It looks in perfect condition ready to go work. What I found enormously fascinating, it is right out on by the street and has stairs that anyone, at anytime could climb up to the cab or touch it. I found no signs of vandalism or any graffiti's. It's a beautiful engine w oil tender, logging car and Santa Fe caboose

Black Hills Central RailRoad

Im going to add this website for the #12 engine because it has as many pictures of it as I do and it gives a thorough fascinating history and one of the best explanation of what a mallet is and how it works, that I've read
rgusrail.com. Or search - Southwest lumber mills engine #12

I thought I'd expand and do justice to this Great, immaculate condition, very rare steamer

1.

2. It looks like it was hard work, very hard work driving one of these things. I don't think they were capable of a speed over 20 mph

3.

4. Right out there on the street

5.

Royalty on the Rails. Duchess of Sutherland passes through Eccleston Park, Merseyside England. This locomotive carries a crest above the nameplate as it has hauled several members of the royal family in addition to being named after one.
