That's a beautiful photo, Pieter!

Nice composition Fred! But were you trespassing on those tracks?

Ian, I'm always envious of all the live steam you have in the UK!

Thanks for sharing all the nice photos everyone!

Regards,

Kelly

Hello Doc, thanks.
The real kicker to the story is that diesel 805-A is one of the original units that pulled the California Zephyr on the Feather River Route. How rare is that now a days. They are determined to get back as much original Western Pacific equipment as possible
Portola is a rustic little town, the only incorporated town in the county of Plumas. I've been fortunate to have traveled the beautiful area extensively in the past years, often with my little daughter

Hey Joe,
Very special memories and photos of Portola, the museum, and that area especially if you were there with your daughter!

Thank you Jack!
I Googled those locomotives. Seems to be back-to-back EMD F3A locomotives. I haven't ever seen one of those in action either! The Union Pacific in Cheyenne has an F9A and I think if might be operational and they bring it out occasionally for excursions. Have to look into that. Thanks for sharing!
Regards,
Kelly

Great Nevada Northern engine photos. If it wasn't at least an 8 hour drive on some pretty shaky roads I'd be there more often. Probably like you I get these offers from Basset. If ever they get the 3 steamers running side by side I will have to make a concerted effort. My plan was to go this last summer but the monsoon wiped that out.

You even got the photographer in.
I've been watching NNR stuff on you tube by toy man. Real easy viewing

Thanks, Joe!
Yes, the Toy Man videos are very good. Perhaps all 3 engines will be running by next summer? It seems they have a lot of work left to accomplish to complete it's restoration.

Very Nice composition, Phil! Interesting architectural details! Is that perhaps a stadium in the background? (left side) TFS!

Kelly
