These photographs were taken at Didcot Railway Centre in Oxfordshire, UK. It is a very rich canvass of photographic opportunities.

Love that rod and oiler shot. It seems like the UK is really taking care of its steam heritage.

Nicely done!

A few comments for the photos on this page! Wow! some really nice ones everyone! A Long of Driving trains is Classic, Mathieu! Love it! Photos chronicling railroaders at work are my favorites. Eastbound at Stephen, BC is really beautiful, love the low lying clouds. Really gives you the sense of high altitude Rocky Mountain Railroading!

Simon, I love the abstract spokes, rod and oiler! I bet that would make a great print! The lighting on the Tank Engine in B&W is really nice.

Very nice work, Macca! I take it there must be a coal mine in the area?

Regards,

Kelly

Night shoot at the Ffestiniog Railway 150 gala, celebrating the 150th anniversary of steam on the railway. Prior to 1863, the empty slate wagons were hauled up to the quarry town of Blaenau Ffestiniog and the loaded wagons were taken care of by gravity, a brakeman ensuring that speed was controlled.
