a day trip to the town of brasov, hoping to see some snow; got a lot of rain instead.
#1 old town piazza ![]() #2 passages between the old buildings ![]() #3 more arcades ![]() #4 waiting for a rainy sunset on the citadel fortess hill, overlooking the old town ![]() #5 after sunset ![]() #6 the citadel fortress ![]() #7 the prefecture, after dark ![]() #8 same building, playing a little with camera profiles in Camera Raw ![]() #9 christmas decorations . . . ![]() #10 on a commercial street, reserved for pedestrians ![]() |

Despite/because of the rain this is a very appealing set of images.
I particularly like the pastel colours and motion blurred light trails in #4, but they are all beautiful, enhanced by the atmospherics and the reflections. |

That explains it! I was wondering how you got those smeared diagonal flares in the image? Wonderful effect - can it be replicated?? I recall the old trick of smearing some vaseline onto the outer diameter of a lens to get a 'soft portrait' effect. This would be somewhat similar. |
