I've posted a copy of this is external sales, but it's worth a headline post on its own here.
There is a forthcoming Public Auction on 9th August of items from the comprehensive Michael's Cameras Museum after the store's closure.
Michael's started as a pharmacy but over several generations became Melbourne's premier quality photographic store with knowledgable staff behind the counters, and a large array of still and motion camera gear and accessories, including new and second hand, and hire and repair departments, and a wonderful museum.
They also had display galleries, seminar rooms for talks and product launches.
Unfortunately they have closed, and having failed to have their museum accepted by the Melbourne Museum into their collections, are auctioning all its precious contents.
Here's a link to an on-line flip catalogue.
I'm sure that bids from anywhere in the world would be welcomed, and the Australian dollar is pretty low against other currencies right now. All catalogue indicative prices are in AU$.
All the rules relating to absentee bids are outlined in the flip catalogue.
Here's the flip catalogue link:
Leski Catalogue Flipbook Michael's Cameras Museum.
Even if not a prospective buyer, it's worth a look.

I guess it is also good to link to the auctions page: https://www.leski.com.au/auction/michaels-camera-museum/

This seems just to be the first part.

Thanks Addy for the Leski Auctions site link.
Yes the 9th August is only Part 1 of several.
The museum was very large and impressive, and I spent many happy hours browsing through it over the decades.
Some very significant historic items from the dawn of photography to the present, including limited edition productions that marked special milestones or anniversaries or events (like a Hasselblad camera made for NASA for the Moon Landings).

It is fun to browse through the catalog. Some fine cameras there
There are some that would show off nicely in a cabinet, even if only for looking.
Apparently, he wasn't a Nikon fan.
Be yourself; everyone else is already taken

Do we know what's in the subsequent auctions? Any Minolta heritage items?

The museum had a display of Minolta cameras, lenses and light meters so presumably they will be part of a later auction. It was a smaller collection than Leica, Canon, Nikon, about the same as Yashica, Pentax and Olympus but included some very early Minoltas (twin lens reflex, rangefinder and SLR) and will be worth looking out for.
I will add links to subsequent flip catalogues when they come out.

It’s sad they couldn’t keep the collection together and the Museum running. I didn’t realise they had such rare pieces
