rattle in a lens |

hi all I've just joined at years of reading reviews
the question I have is that my Sigma Macro 150mm F2.8 EX DG HSM has a rattle it seems that the centre part of the lens is loose is this normal?? When its attached to my A77ii it works fine focus is spot on Any advice appreciated |

I don't know about this lens in specific but there are lenses with floating element design where some elements move around when not connected to the camera. Does the movement stop when you have the camera turned on?

Just shook my Sigma 105/2.8 EX DG OS HSM
![]() There is something inside that seems to move - say "it rattles" if you will. Like Hezu said, it probably the OS-system. My Canon EF 24-70 1:4 L IS USM has similar behaviour. And welcome to Dyxum, Rhidav ![]() |

this is indeed true, i also own this lens and have found that you can get rid of the rattle if you put the os (optical stabilisation) to off before getting the lens off your camera body.
this way the lens puts the stabilised lens elements to a set point wich will hold it there (kinda like focus hold but for he stabilised elements). |

It is the optical stabilized lens & having given it some more play time it is quite when on the camera body many thanks for all of your help |
