About a month ago, we were on holiday in Hawkes Bay staying on a farm beside a famous vineyard. One day we heard on the news, that COVID's Delta had arrived and my home city, Auckland, was going into the hardest lockdown. The government gave out of town residents 2 days to get home or they would not be allowed across the border.
We were towing a caravan and were around 500km away from home. We had not had enough time to explore the area so we decided to spend one more day walking and shooting before using the last day to get home even if we had to drive into the night. We set off at 7am to walk as much of the land as I could manage (I'm very slow at present). From the farm, we walked up Te Mata Peak to the top and I managed to grab some great shots. Te Mata Peak is the highest point to the right in shot 2. Here are a couple of reflection shots I made. The morning air was so still it was amazing. 1. It looks very similar to images i saw recently from you. Nevertheless, beautiful scenes and the b&w certainly adds to the quiet mood. TFS Mike

I like the composition of the 2nd shot. The human mind is a marvelous thing and it can easily fill in missing details based on what can be seen and experience. Cropping heavily to feature the reflection instead of the whole, creates an opportunity for the viewer to think about the image which adds interest. |
