Every autumn, close to where I live, there's a festival called Renaissance Festival. They setup a medieval village with food, drink, performers etc. We attended last year.

Thanks to stay at home, I went thru some of those pics and thought of sharing them.
C&C welcome and appreciated.

1. Performer in a tent. Made it B&W due to terrible color balance issues.

2. The serfs protest: monarchy, inequality, and Mariah Carey.
(Also reminds me of the old joke. Minister "Sire, the peasants are revolting!" and the king replies "Yes, they are, aren't they?"

3. Umbrella.

4. Minstrels.

5. Fairhaven theater.

6. (Morgan's mane is) Lost!

7. On stage.

8. Impressive acrobats.

9. Barely balanced indeed!

10. Festival attendee. There were a good number of people dressed in period attire for the festival.

11. The dark lord and his consort.

12. The violinist and percussionist.

13. Lawless land! A joke about "thine mother" could lead to a sword fight!

14. The harpist. I SO wish I'd gotten a better shot of her.

15. The eccentric inventor.

16. And his ride!

17. Grabbing a drink at the Tudor Rose.

18. Guitarist.

19. Blowing bubbles.

20. Mother and daughter, very well dressed just for the fest.

21. Business is a bit slow at the Tortuga Shoppe.

22. Fairytale (sic) garlands.

23. Incense.

Nice reportage Sashi and a large variety of different shots. #3 the umbrella is well spotted and I really like the portrait #15. In #9 I can see it's balanced now, but how to get there and how to end is a whole other question. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed them all
Mind the bandwidth of others, don't link pictures larger then 1024 wide or 960 pix high, see here

A great diverse reportage indeed Sashi! It looks like you had a good time there and those acrobats are really good. It strikes me that it seems to be pretty quiet with visitors. We have such a kind of festival in the region as well, but it's much harder there to get good pictures there through the crowd. Maybe this year with with the 1,5 meter distance rules?

Thanks, Pieter.

Fred, this was in autumn 2019 and the festival was packed. I actually had to work hard to get the isolation that I wanted. Maybe I should've included more crowds but this is what I got.
If you go, do share the pics. It's difficult to enforce the 1.5m distance in crowds. I personally have written off 2020 entirely for public activities/events.

Regards
Sashi

Excellent documentary. Looks like fairyland. Much to like in these images!

You did very well then with the crowd Sashi!
Just read in today's local newspaper that this year's event will be skipped

Thanks, Snegren.

Fred, not surprised. Hope we'll all have good news to look forward to soon.
