Well , they don't seem to make things like they used too .
It seems that my Minolta NP-400 for my Dynax 7d , DiMage A1 and A2 don't seem to be holding there charge as well as they used too . I'm not sure why , it's not like there even 20 years old yet ! So I think it's time to get a couple of fresh ones . Minolta only want's to sell me a photocopier , Pentax also used this battery ( D-LI50 ) in their K10d and K20d , but don't list it anymore .... So third party it is . I've had a look on Hahnels website , who I know supply decent batteries , they don't seem to do it anymore , so off to the unknown Chinese offerings . Most of what I see either doesn't even state a brand or I have never heard of them before . they are quite possibly all from the same factory anyway . So does anyone have a suggestion of any make that better than another ? I've seen one brand (DSTE ) on Amazon with a charger , who seem to advertise quite a few . never heard of them , but at least they use a brand name ! DSTE 2 pack batter and charger Any thoughts ? |

I think the seller is more important then the make with the cheap ones. I noticed you still can buy Jupio NP-400 batteries. I would go for one of those from a reputable seller. A lot of Dutch shops are selling these.

Cheers Addy .
I did a search for Jupio branded ones on ebay , U.K , EU and worldwide , but nothing came up . I guess it is pretty much pot luck these days , I doubt they'll last as long as the original Minolta's though . |

While not an NP-400 battery I've been using 2 Jupio's in my A7RIV since new, mixed with the original OEM battery and can't tell a difference in regular everyday use.
Came as a 2 battery + charger kit much like that DSTE kit, even the same kind of USB charger that caught me out a tad. So I've added an old Iphone charging block to the kit so I can plug it into the wall. |

I have a Jupio battery for my Canons, it is a fine battery. The Minolta original battery is 1500 mAh, the Jupio is 1450 mAh. So, comparable.
Some places selling the Jupio: https://www.jupioshop.com/en/np-400-/-d-li50-/-bp-21-/-slb-1674-1450-mah https://www.photospecialist.com/jupio-minolta-np-400 https://www.cameranu.nl/nl/p7862/pentax-d-li50-konica-minolta-np-400-accu-merk-jupio https://www.oehling.com/p/jupio-np-400-for-minolta-1-450-mah No experience with Jupioshop, the others are reputable shops. |

Thanks for the links . The last one doesn't ship to the U.K , but the others are fine . I'll have to send them an email to check if UK taxes etc are already paid or if I can expect an extra bill when it gets here . |

It's the USB charger that caught my eye . I have plenty of the mains chargers , but I fancy a usb charger for when I'm away in my campervan to charge them up via a powerbank or the vans 12v system. Saves setting the mains inverter up . |
