Although with the weather warming up I'd imagine these could move quickly if they wanted to.
I'm happy to see them on my computer screen.

They are really a shy species but as all serpents get a bad reputation. Been up close countless times over the years but never had one respond to me in anything but a defensive manner. Today's one took one look at me and promptly did a 180 and found a spot it felt safe in.

Eastern Brown out and about on a cool overcast winters day.

Being a cool day I pushed in a bit closer than what I usually do to Brown's, wide shot is 200mm and no crop.

Baby gators with mom. I counted sixteen total. Hatched one week ago. They will stay with the mother for a year but only one or two lucky ones will probably survive.

Likely the same Eastern Brown as before, found in the same spot during a birding walk this morning.

I met such a snake during a bike ride in upstate New York.
I don't know what kind of snake it is.

Most likely it is a Black Racer. They are good at catching rats. Harmless to you.
