I only have the 20/2.8, 50/1.7, and 500/8. I'd be more interested in the 24-105 D and 135/2.8.

Do the 20/2.8 and Sony 50/1.4 retain Lens Compensation?

There seems to be no restriction on the focus points with 500REF. This video uses the outer focus points.

I found a photo of the new Monster board with the old one side by side. The new board looks quite different from the assembly. Here you find the photo (the new is left, the old right)

I have my LA-EA4 still and the Zeiss 135mm f1.8, and the Minolta 28-70 G. Really hoping they add the G, but getting proper AF with the 135 would be incredible. I am glad no one bought it when I tried to sell last year!

Definitely need to look into getting the 500 mirror, will just need to find a good price for one.

A key feature I'd be looking forward is a simple firmware upgrade route. Hopefully the lens support will grow and make the adapter ever more attractive, but I'm not about to buy one now if I can't easily update it.

Developer interview

According to this, he seems to be considering 50 macros, 100 macros and 100 soft in the next version.

It looks exactly same the procedure for upgrading the genuine LA-EA4.

This bulletin board may also be helpful.

If you want to buy anything at TAOBAO, you need a credit card issued in China or a bank account in China to pay. You will also need a proper address in China.

Fortunately, there are many import agents for TAOBAO in Japan.
I'm waiting for the LA-EA4r board now...

Found one in one of my local camera shops (I know, nice to have several a few minutes drive away ... don't know how many we'll have after the panic ends). Immaculate condition, £210. Jumped at it! Seems to be sharper than many other mirrors I've tried and the AF is pretty good on the A58. Must get around to some open-country birding.

Miranda F & Sensorex, Sony A58, Nex-6, Dynax 4, 5, 60, 500si/600si/700si/800si, various Sony & Minolta lenses, several Tamrons, lots of MF primes and *far* too many old film cameras . . .

Got mine a year or 2 ago, still kinda tempted to mod it like I've seen can be done on the A99ii. Seems it's chipped to tell the camera to only use the center AF point but it looks like the 99ii can handle using it on a wider AF area if the lens is re-chipped to fool the camera it's another lens.

Still kicking myself I missed buying one a year earlier, turned up on Ebay at $70 starting bid...put one in and left it there. Then for some reason it was changed to a $70 Buy it now and "poof", gone in a heartbeat!
