additional information:
There are two versions of this lens. The first, the black version, has a plastic body and has been introduced as standard lens for the Nikon EM (film) camera. It supplanted the Nikkor 50mm F/2 lens which had been introduced in 1959. The second, the silver version, has a full metal body and weighs about 20 g more. The optical design of both versions is identical.
