Picked up one of those (later version) today, as 'collateral damage' together with a Meyer Optik Oreston 50/1.8

You will appreciate the Oreston very much Fred. It's a bit of a wild one.

Is bubbly, flares beautifully with rainbows and sunshowers, slightly swirly, makes catseyes.... But you'll appreciate the Takumar also. Very sharp, very smooth. Edited by Snegren - 02 November 2017 at 21:00 |

Looks promising. Thanks for sharing Paul! Almost time to create a separate thread for it?

I will use it on A99 as well. I have a couple of simple M42 to a-mount adapters from China, costing only a couple of euro's. They are so cheap that I have one for each lens (so far). Some are chipped, some not. But it's all manual focus anyhow and with focus peaking and/or enlarged live view, the chip is not really necessary.

Hm.., struggling to mount it on my A99 directly through my m42 adapters. There is something in the way at the bottom of the lens. With a macro tube in between there is no problem.

There are several versions of this lens, may have to do with that. Mine is one of the later ones. I will have another look.
Otherwise I did not pay that much for this lens fortunately |
