Macro Focusing (MF)


There are two versions of this lens: a one-touch push-pull zoom "Macro Focusing" version and a two-touch twist zoom "Close-Focusing" version. Both of these were made by Kino and sold under other brands as well as their own Kiron brand. Vivitar also sold a larger one-touch push-pull 70-150mm F3.8 "Auto Zoom" made by Tokina. The Kiron version(s) are labelled F4.

The Close Focusing version has a built-in sliding lens hood. The Close Focusing version will only focus closer at 70 mm.

Vivitar also sold a dedicated 2X matched multiplier that also allowed 1:2 half size magnification.

Had one of these with the matched multiplier in Canon FD back in the '80s - not brilliant but plenty good enough for me back then.
