Coast: Train engineer or in Europe: Driver
Never in my wildest dreams did I ever Imagine myself operating a train, although I love trains. Therefore this has to be one of my favorite portraits. Very Happy to share

BIG Smile!

Western Pacific Rail Way Museum, Portola , California by Coast
California Zephyr, Feather River Route, Western Pacific RR Feather River Canyon Sierra Nevada

I was just wandering around taking pictures of everything I could and they have a little oval that folks can buy a trip of operating one of their locos. They happened to be doing that this day and when they were done for some reason they came over to me and asked me if I wanted to do it for free. I was surprised and said of course. I would have gladly paid if I knew about it. I was really only there to see stuff and take pics.
This is the result

Had a Wonderful time. Will be posting an album w the photos soon.
The operation is an NGO (non governmental operation). They seem to be very proud they have accepted no federal or state money. It was very much like my trip to The Nevada Northern Rail Way Museum in ELY Nevada, only w diesel engines 👍

    @ maricontis:

I am fascinated by your photograph and the self-ironic attempt to your 'job' - a profession I do know very well...
Question to me (from the patient's view) remains: How about your errors and omissions liabilty insurance??

It's a meteor Mike and I certainly wouldn't want to clone such a rare occurrence out. Out of dozens of shots from this night it was the only one I captured.
