Sony recently had a promotion for 'be alpha' for women. I believe this was a US promotion. I did not apply, as I felt they were looking for pros and I am not. BUT, if I had wanted to apply, it would have been very difficult, as Sony was asking for a good body of stuff including original video from applicants and I only found out about it a few days before the deadline. What they were asking for would require at least a couple weeks to get together. I'm pretty in tune to social media, sony, etc, so it's odd I did not even know until close to deadline. Leads me to believe Sony did not do a great job promoting it. |

Just some food for thought. Would there be sexism in photography in the context this thread seems to be following, if you took away the money angle? To explain, would we be having this conversation about sexism in photography if the photography in question was not a business that involved any kind of financial transaction? Just a question, nothing implied by it as such.

Nothing is as it first appears.
