I haven't posted any pics here for a while now, but do not worry, Geilo is alive and well :)

It's just that he's been... uh... lying low:

but every now and then he does get in the mood to pose for the camera:

unfortunately, it doesn't last long - he often is horrified at my shooting skills:

One should never go too long without photographing one's cat.

My Tijgertje

I took this picture after I went out and came home quite drunk. So it was pure luck he posed like this for me and I pushed the shutter just then

Brian, I've taken your advice to heart and tried to get a few shots of my cats last weekend. I had to take this one with the macro lens since Braxton always wanted to investigate the camera (very closely ).

A350; Sony 50M28; ISO 100; f6.3; 1/80th

Using AF-C on this shot gave me great detail on the nose but there wasn't enought DOF to get the eyes in focus.

Trying (unsuccessfully ) to photograph some birds in the back yard when I found this cat hunting around the wood pile.

A350; Sony 70-300G (150mm); ISO 200; f5.6; 1/125th

I'm trying to improve my PP skills by working with layers and masks in PSE7 and PSPX2. The cat in the second image (including whiskers) was masked while the background was blurred and desaturated. I hope to have another go at this image and leave more detail in the clover and grass at the cat's feet. C&C are encouraged.

Cheers... Brian

Edit: Another go at the second cat...

Ours were starting to feel left out:

#1 Roobarb - Red Spotted Oriental

#2 Pi - Blue Point Siamese

We used to also have a Seal Point until a couple of years ago by the name Custard - the names might not be lost on the UK members....

Kind regards, Neil.

Blue Point Siamese are beautiful have beautiful colouring. Much prettier than anything to be found on our (Siamese born) cats!

Hugo again, a200 tammy90, had a play with PP on this one, desaturated,
played with the curves and popped his eye, not sure if it works or not but I quite like it:

cheers
Dan
