Thanks, dilettante! I took a closer look at #1 and it appears that I oversharpened some beetle damage during the second pass.

Caught the bugger red handed...

Thanks bms44974! I forgot to add that this was shot using using two flashes. This system turns out to be pretty powerful, able to give good results but quite heavy and takes a lot of practice to get used to.

I haven't seen this butterfly before and I managed to take only 2 shots. Anyone can identify this one?

Like your Jezabel, Stan (not so common over here )

Here are 2 from last week, both with A700 + KM100M/2.8 + Sony twin flash (only one used, with diffuser). The buddleia living up to its name.

1. (F9, 1/125, 400iso)

2. (F8, 1/200, 200iso)

@Tukki - very impressive
@darosa - very beautiful, both shots

Mine: a couple of rough shots of a bumblebee moth -- such a weird-looking thing -- taken with a beercan and A100 (the second one has been cropped 25%, the third a little more)

It's like a flying fuzzy lobster with the colors and buzzing sound of a bumblebee, yet it's a moth.
