Thought I would start a new thread seeing the last one is up to page 16

Taken last evening, the first 2 blinded me for a few seconds (WARNING - do not follow birds and shoot into the sun!) and the third just made me laugh

straight out of the camera

Rosie, I like the effect on that last one.


Adult female frigatebird


A group of about 50 pelicans flew in right after sunrise. This pic doesn't do it justice, but it was the best I coyuld get.


Grabbin' some grub.


All with A700. First one with 1.4 TC and 600/4, the other 2 with 600/4 only.

That's a very nice action shot of the tern (Grabbin' some grub)- looks like you are getting some splendid use out of that lens.

Thanks, the 600 is definitely getting a workout. I'm heading back to the Rio Grande Valley and New Mexico later this year, trying to get as much practice with it as I can.
Looking at your photos of endangered species got me thinking; I'm starting to work with some of our local conservation groups. Don't know if I can provide them with the quality they want, but I'm at least laying the groundwork for someone who can. Requires shooting from a small boat, which is a whole different story.

After a couple months on the road I returned home to find most of the woodstorks chicks gone with just 4 juveniles left around.
