The first 2 shots were with A700 + SAL75300, while the third was A100 + Minolta 70-210/3.5-4.5 (not the real beercan).

I've been trying some BIF shots on seagulls this vacation but all I can say is "it ain't easy". Most of the closer ones were oof so I need to read and study the Frankman article once more.

This one was a bit further away and slightly cropped, and I especially like how the gull is positioned vs. the background. C&C (and other advice) always welcome.


A700 @ ISO400, 100-400 APO @ 360mm, f8, 1/1250sec.

Green woodpecker foraging on my lawn yesterday afternoon. Taken through my office window with the Sigma 70-300 AP0 lens mentioned in my last post here. Shortly after that he spotted me and flew away. They fly too fast for a BIF shot
