Edited: No More green birdies... it was a resizing option I unwisely decided to try.
I'm starting off the latest thread with a couple of the little fellows. Not even close to the length of a ruler between them. Taken with the 500/8. Unidentified - it's not in my book and I'd never seen it before today. About 12-15cm and likes singing. Olive-backed sunbird having a bath - which it does by sliding on its belly down the wet leaf. And another of the sunbird with some of that famous 500/8 bokeh?!? Edited by maewpa - 29 May 2008 at 13:36 |

Do the second and third of the shots above have a green tinge on the bird? I'm seeing one and it wasn't there before I put them on Smugmug.

As part of our Round-Australia journey, I have set myself the task of photographing every native bird this country has. After five months, I've got 120 birds and am 15% of the way through.
I thought I'd share some of these birds with you. Today, it's Honeyeaters: Cheers, Richard Edited by geardown - 30 May 2008 at 12:23 |

Richard - I envy you and your venture. Soundss like a great way of spending a year. The honeyeaters are lovely. I look forward to seeing more.
Anyway, since I'm here, thought I'd post a few as well: Frank |

Nice pics so far.
Frank, as usual, nice work . Are those some kind left overs that you did not post in the Open Views? I'd be happy if I had those kind of left overs..... Edited by dd001 - 30 May 2008 at 13:08 |

Thanks dd100 - yes, I have heaps of leftovers. Mind you, I take around 100 - 200 per session! I wished that the back pelican in the first had his beak raised and was looking to the right...
Cheers, Frank |
