Finally got a chance to take out the 600/4 again;
1. Start with a trouble maker

2. Then a bigger trouble maker

3. Now a curious bird

4. That suddenly got shy and hid behind a tree

5. A bird which runs into the bushes whenever I point the lens at it

6. A man made bird (couldnt help myself and try), I believe from the species JetStar

Bonaparte's must be heading south right now. Passing throught SF CA and Tampa Bay same time. Your other Gull is the Ringed Bill Gull. Very common here in Winter.

Very lovely set Luisv. I especially like the ducks.

Nice set Luisv. I think the scaup turned out fine, better to get most of the dark plumage correct than a bit of the white plumage. Love the little Yellowthroat, Im finding the smaller the bird the harder it is to catch.

I found the 600mm to be very picky with focus on the A700, sometimes its difficult to judge the correct focus point. And if you manual focus, a 1mm rotation of the focus ring is quite a big shift in field of focus. My 300mm is much easier to use.

How do you find the 400mm?
