I was shooting what I think was a Scarlet Finch or Rosefinch, when it suddenly flew off. I liked this shot much better than the perched shot.

First opportunity I've had to go out in about a month and the light was not wonderful, but these black skimmers were putting on a pretty good show.



I love the curve of their wings; very graceful birds.




They do pretty good in the pairs events, too.

These two today while visiting the rose gardens at Mottesfont Abbey.

Go 'way I'm hiding (5D Tamron 55-200 @180 1/400 f5)


I want my mum   (5d Tamron 55-200 @200, 1/125 f5.6)


Would appreciate comments on which is the better of the two.

Here's some shots of a Black Crowned Night heron that I took this morning.
Sony a100/Tokina 4.6-6.7 100-400mm @f6.3/ISO400 @1/400 sec. Had to go hand held today as I couldn't get over the reeds with the tripod.

Presume most were with the 70-200?
