A carry-on from the last.

I am sure someone will want to start the new thread off.

Happy viewing.

I was shooting what I think was a Scarlet Finch or Rosefinch, when it suddenly flew off. I liked this shot much better than the perched shot.

Shots of today; what else should it be: "the" heron:

BTW: The heron didn't change position during the sequence.

The heron was in a bad mood today and didn't just eat the fish, he gored them before!

First opportunity I've had to go out in about a month and the light was not wonderful, but these black skimmers were putting on a pretty good show.

I love the curve of their wings; very graceful birds.

They do pretty good in the pairs events, too.

Here's some shots of a Black Crowned Night heron that I took this morning.
Sony a100/Tokina 4.6-6.7 100-400mm @f6.3/ISO400 @1/400 sec. Had to go hand held today as I couldn't get over the reeds with the tripod.

He seeks them here, he seeks them there -- he seeks the little fishies everywhere.

Great shots Antti. Sharp and good colours, aside perhaps from the last.

Presume most were with the 70-200?
