Here's my tiel taken with the kit lens. Still awaiting my 400mm F5.6 Tokina lens, so I hope to have some more soon. I know I missed the focus on the eye by a tad bit, such a shame.

Here's a shot my 15 year old daughter took with my 5D on vacation. It's cropped quite a bit (25 % of original) but pretty nice "decisive moment" with this little one pretty sharp and completely free in the air, but not flying.

That's a double take !
Pegelli's shot made me smile and Dilettante's humour broadened it from ear-to-ear. I'm amazed by some shots, people must have been very, very patient. Nice work !

Does anyone know the english name of this bird ?
It's a quite rare species out here.
It suddenly appeared at the border of the garden pond this afternoon.

This is 1/16th of a 100% crop, shot with the 80-200/2.8@f4.5 1/250th

It's a Kingfisher - not certain which sub-species but it's definitely a Kingfisher.

Appears to be a Common Kingfisher - Aloedo Atthis - and I think it's a protected species.

Just walking around in some dark areas, this little guys jumps up out of the brush. Sat there and let me and my boys walk around him for 5-10 minutes. Wish I had taken a better lens in with me, didn't realize the canopy of the trees were so dense.
