Roy -- while the chick melts one's heart, #3 is perhaps the most interesting because of the wing patterns that are revealed. A most enjoyable set.

I caught an Egret in flight, unfortunately the lens on the camera was only a 28-80 (a fine piece of entry level plastic silver Tamron I was testing before placing for sale ) It's a heavy crop...

Roy, that was just another great set from you. Love the chick and the owl stretching the wing. Thanks!

Of course the rest of this thread is nothing to overlook either. Lots of special shots are here.

Just luvin' DYXUM.

I usually don't do birds, but that's (hopefully) soon to change whenever Tamron releases that 2.8 tele. But the other morning I went out to check the pre-dawn light and this little guy was just sitting there singing up a song and I couldn't resist. I went back in, attached the beercan to the a700 and mounted the Metz in the hotshoe. It was about an hour before sun-up with some detail just starting to show in the overcast clouds but the a700 instantly locked on focus in the near dark and I took one shot in A mode (both cam and flash) and got a nice shot with the 'vane against a stark black sky, but then I went to Manual metering, metered on the sky and left the flash in A mode. This is the result.

Good ones, Ken. As an owner myself, I am pleased to see the mirror getting some use.
