It was not too late for me to understand that A700 is a better camera than A850 is bird shooting, three years after one.

Just saw this, awesome! Aren't birds landing on water just the most fascinating site to behold? If I had more time I'd be out at Boulogne every day trying to capture birds landing on the lake.

I also love your kingfisher shot on this page. I'm so used to seeing the colors of Gustav's kingfishers that it was a real surprise to see a different color (and a tasty little meal!)
I detest bugs, especially spiders.

These were taken at Pacific Northwest Birds of Prey a home for about 100 raptors. You have open access to the hawks and eagles and a flight demo once per day. This was my first visit even though it's only 45 minutes form were I live. Lighting wasn't that great so I think I will try again early next summer. I've attached a link to PNWB.
