Olivier - That fill flash is really adding some clarity, great shots

John - Love the Egret shots and the Long Billed Curlew

@TBMike: Congrats on the white morph spot, Mike! I really like the curlew. Great angle and DOF. That one might not have turned out so well if the sun had been out.

Cheers... Brian

TBMike : our last one is the best to me : bravo !
jet_set_willy : thanks ;-) Indeed, fill-in flash helps a lot.But what I like about the 70-400 G is the color rendition

Brian: I don’t consider any offer of help, or advice as boring. I’ve taken a lot of shots today using your advice and now have a greater appreciation for DOF. However, the clouds have not cooperated today and using an ISO of 5000, trying to get to 1/500, I also have a greater appreciation of the a700’s noise handling capabilities. Thanks for your help.

Hope you don't mind but I added a little sharpening to your photo. I have few humming birds in the back yard and my skill with anything that moves is lacking. However, I noticed a little lack of sharpness so I did a little Lightroom sharpening. See what you think...
