I'll get this one started. All shots with A700 & one of three lenses; Big Beercan, Tokina 100-300-F4 or Sigma 135-400 DG APO. C&C always welcomed, always looking to improve here.

Nicely captured Al. On a few of these, I noticed that you're using some pretty small apertures (e.g. f11 and f14) or extreme shutter speeds (e.g. 1/3200sec). Perhaps "invest" some of that excess into your ISO. I shoot a lot at ISO 400 out of necessity. If I had a choice, I'd gladly drop back to ISO 200 (with speeds of 1/1250sec and aperture f8).

Anyway, you've got more interesting subject matter than me! Here's one of the few I managed on a rather poor outing last weekend. We saw a lot - most of it flying AWAY from us:

Cheers, Frank

This is a snap of the Indian Nightjar. Shot this in the night using the lights of my jeep.

Thankyou very much Frank. I feel the itch for a better lens though!

If you love Hummer, watch this:
Live Camera Hummer
(Phoebe is a Channel Island Allen (S.s. sedentarius) hummingbird in Orange County, California. She has been laying 4 to 5 clutches each year for several years and I've been broadcasting her nest since 2007)
