Three Great Blue Heron shots at a local, mostly frozen pond. All with A700 and Tokina 100-300 F4.

Yesterday's shot of northern goshawk, taken with A700 and 35-200xi power zoom! That's not an everyday bird lens. Luckily hawk was more interested in it's prey, female pheasant, so I could get close, about 2 metres reach. Normally these take off if human even crosses their sight (because of hundreds of years of persecution for birds of prey in my country), but this one (female I guess, because I have such of an effect to opposite sex, they just freese ) took only little notice to me. I stood in snow on my knees for half hour and that was enough, took about 300 frames...

Cheers,

Tapio - I'd love to get that close to a goshawk. I love the way their eyes "glare" at you. Very effective.

Love the Goshawk and great test shots adi.
Tried to get close to the Spoonbill again today, came up from behind and he just casually looks over his shoulder and wanders unconcernedly away so all heavily cropped, will get the feather definition eventually....

And finally am out of here...

Cheers Brandy.
