Today's eurasian pygmy owl, shot with A700 and Sigma APO 500/4.5 at 1/45 s/f:4.5 ISO 1600 with tripod. It's quite good owlwinter in S-Finland, in single day it's possible to find 7 species though we have daylight only about 7 hours. Love that Pygmy Owl, Tapio.
I was booked on a 5-day owl-watching tour to Northern Finland (from Oulu up to the Arctic Circle) for last April, but it was cancelled because only one other person booked. I instead switched to a four-day trip in Southern Sweden in the Spring where I got to see a Great Grey Owl, Ural Owl, Tengmalm's Owl and a Eurasian Pygmy Owl like yours. Unfortunately the Eagle Owl we tried to find didn't appear. You're so lucky to have such great owls in Scandinavia. |
