nope, nothing that exciting, the "MG" are my initials and the "1968" is the year I was born.

Kind of figured that was a male robin, I don't think I've ever seen one with such a dark-colored head.

I think you should definitely get one for your mid-life crisis car. It is a fun little money pit. I'm only a year younger- my midlife crisis car would be a 69 'vette - though with two young kids that's not going to happen.

All the robins around us are colored that way. The females are a little browner, but they are ruddy underneath - in general just looking like a faded male. In my town, the females outnumber the males about 2:1. According to my Peterson's guide, robins are in the blackbird family and you can attract them by putting out cracked corn and mealworms.

Looks like everyone's been busy over the past week or so. Great stuff guys.

Here are a few of my more recent shots:

1. They may be graceful at times, but not when coming in to land:

2. Corellas

3. White faced heron

4. Black shouldered kite:

5. Black cockatoos:

6. Squabbling:

7. Darter

Cheers, Frank

Great photos Frank!
Laughed out loud at the first one. The last looks like it should be a hood ornament on an car from the 1930s. The kite looks like a bird you don't want to mess with.

Love your post as usual, but that Black Shouldered Kite shot is really great, the pose is perfect!

Great shots on here as usual, it hardly seems fair to single any out, but Frank I love that Kite, it is gorgeous!

A few from me:
Egret:

Herons:

Gull Billed Tern:

"The chase" Not particularly good a shot and quite a crop, but I just liked the way the two at the back were chasing the one with food in formation:

Cheers

Gorgeous shots Frank, especially the heron.
Geese are not much better looking when landing.

They do seem to know what they’re doing, and so does the photographer. Great job Silversurfer!!
