Pacific Swallow (Unconfirmed)- could be a Welcome Swallow but has a different tail.

First outing for my new 500mm reflex today, I took it to Sydney's Bicentennial Park.

Thanks aditya. I'm very pleased with the lens so far. It has limitations (fixed focal length, fixed f/8 aperture, spot AF only, unusual bokeh) but in terms of bang for your buck and portability it's pretty impressive. Anything else with similar reach is several times the price and weight.

Good photos there, Mitchens.

I went to the Waterbird Refuge in Bicentennial Park, apart from the fact that in the afternoon it's hard to avoid shooting toward the sun it's a good spot for snapping birds. At one point a pair of sea eagles turned up too, but unfortunately they stayed too far away and too close to the sun to get any decent photos.
