I am really starting to enjoy this thread but am fairly new to birds so don't know what a lot of them are, especially the ones outside of Western Europe and more specifically the UK. It would therefore be a HUGE advantage to me and probably many others if you could add the name with the picture if you know it. I know this is extra work and for most of us time is very precious but it would only take a couple of seconds. I'm aware a lot of you already do this but typically it's often the unnamed ones I'm struggling with.

On a seperate note, there is a lot of talent shown here. Many excellent images in what I'm finding a rather difficult genre of photography to get to grips with.
In 2012 after months of tests I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. I was 46 and suddenly life made sense. I don't mean to offend with my comments so please tell me if I do so I can put it right.

A typical day the life of a pigeon...

A quick stretch after a good nights sleep

Give the misses a quick peck on the cheek

Yoga after lunch

Get into a scrap at the local watering hole

Get dinner from the wife

Get ready for bed.

yeah I have way too much time on my hands

Agree with Russellsbags - most of us UK residents have no idea what species some of these pics are of particularly those from afar.
We can appreciate the photographs but you could improve our knowledge - please.

darosa - really like the b/w pic of the heron, I think that gulls also work very well in b/w too. Guess this as always is probably personal preference.

serdar - nice pic of the white bird, flying over the water with its reflection - shame, for me, there is not little more contrast between water colour which is very pale and the bird.

I love this particular thread/theme - soooo difficult to get sharp images of these birds buy when you do really worth the effort.

Hi Stevo

Really sharp images of the ibis, colours look great against the sky. Great action shot - love it.
