Think these two pics are much sharper than pics of the cardinals on the 18th that you posted. See the body and lens combo the same, so guess must be in the settings you were using. Both the finch and wren very nice.
Graham

I think it's mostly because the Cardinal was moving around quite a bit, she was also further away. The Finch and Wren were closer and much better behaved.

@DCA1213: FYI, the bird in your second photo is actually a Carolina Wren, not a House Wren.

Carolina Wren is much prettier, IMO, and you've done a good job capturing it.

Wonderful photograph - really like the effects you are achieving with these finches. Really like how you are showing the movement of the wings in a static photograph - very nice. Think this is my favourite so far.

Great

Nitrosyl

For me the second photograph is the most impressive.

Pic 1 & 3 - the left hand bird gets lost with the tree.
Pic 4 - the bird with his wings out has the right wing blurred.

Pic 2 - very nice

Dennis

Nice set - particular like the two of the white throated sparrow.

Thanks Graham. It is a pretty bird. I have a few more from this afternoon I will be posting later. These small birds are a challenge they move about so quickly, they seldom sit still
