Ok here goes! During the past weeks the local wetland offered a brief window of opportunity to get really close to avocets in the midst of spring fever & doing various photographically fun things. Here are two shots of the kinds of aerial kung fu they resort to when one dares to stick its water-tweezering beak into another's sedimentary real estate.

Think these two pics are much sharper than pics of the cardinals on the 18th that you posted. See the body and lens combo the same, so guess must be in the settings you were using. Both the finch and wren very nice. Graham |
