Some from a trip out to the woods this morning. All but one taken with the a900 and Minolta 100 macro, ISO 200. Most with tripod, some handheld or braced on the ground.
3 small mushrooms A big bracken Not sure what this one is, it was on a stump top. Nice burgundy colour. Some fungi that were changing colour as they aged A very tiny mushroom More fungi, growing around a twig One growing on the side of a wet log And the last one, taken handheld with the a900 and Minolta 24 2.8 |

Wow, I have to go out again and shoot some more.
For now some 'old ones' the last one was spectacularly large. It was visible from the road and lots of car tracks showed that there must be loads of photos from this one |

Before photography, I stepped on fungi as if it were not there. Now, I can see just how beautiful these fragile plants can be.
Pegelli, yours certainly shows there is still beauty even near the end of life. At my age, that's very encouraging! |

Thanks for the comments. It's a very inspiring set of fungus and the good thing it's only 20 meter from my front door, along the road in the front yard of our neighbours. I've been shooting it almost every day.
Btw, very nice pictures from all in this thread. It's the season and it shows. Here's another one, now again with the 100/2.8 macro, a close up of a fungus near the end of it's life: A700 + KM100/2.8 Macro D @ f11, 1/15th, ISO200, tripod Edited by pegelli - 01 November 2008 at 15:59 |

There are some lovely shots here that prove that Dyxum shooters are willing to get "down and dirty" for the right fungus!
I suspect the venerable Minolta/Sony angle finder is popular among this group. I know I love mine. |

That's a great shot, pegelli. Nice results from the lens, but a beautifully composed and lit shot too. |
