I'd take a shot at it being a False Death Cap, which is poisonous (don't be fooled by the 'False' bit!)

Here's one I took of what looks like the same species last year

'Shrooms have been scarce this year with the dry spell we've had, but I managed to capture a few. The first one was with the beercan, #2 with the Tam90 and #3 is the ringflash mounted on the Tam90

Here's one growing out of a pinecone.
Tamron 70-300 LD Macro, camera hanging upside down from reversed centercolumn in tripod, to get close enough to the ground

I think the following series is worthy to be my 100th post.

We have had quite a wet period and suddenly last weekend was gorgeous so I went out to shoot fungus after having spotted some nice examples on a bicicle ride in the morning (w/o my camera with me).

For the first shot I tried to keep my distance by using my BB and not scare of the gnome. It must have just jumped off during the 2 sec self timer delay, because him sitting there was a great help focussing

On the side of the ditch I found some other beauties (KM 100/2.8 Macro)

A bit further away I found this little set of "Easter Eggs" (KM 100/2.8 Macro)

In the end I wouldn't have had to go out so far to find these, as the following two were in our own back yard, less than 5 m from the back door !

A belated congrats to pegelli for 100 posts and quite a few excellant pics, here and elsewhere.
Here's one of a hearty old specimen (It's already been mowed or harvested once already) from today taken near the riverbank. Decided to make a long exposure attempt for the current DPC and it turned out pretty well. With the beercan on a tripod f22 @ 1.3 sec. ISO 100

Nice shot stiuskr, here's another one from me taken today. Literally translated from Dutch it's called "Ink Fungus". Don't know the English or Latin name. You can see the ink around the bottom of the cap, very black indeed !
The sun just hit it, but not yet long enough to evaporate the dew.
Shot with the KM 100/2.8 Macro.

@dilettante : beautiful shots, especially like # 3! I've been hunting for fungi as well but haven't found any of these nice "translucent" ones yet. Most others are damaged by birds etc.
Seems we have found the same type of fly though (from your #4), see my post in "Bugs and Spiders" here

They were about all I found yesterday - I was hoping for some more interesting varieties. But I do like the mood of these shots with the moisture-soaked moss and the delicate fungi.

Ah yes, they kept landing on my subjects, so I decided to make one my subject. Not particularly pretty, but I like the detail. Your shot is very good.
