Software driver for Dimage 5400ii scanner and Mac

I did try - no luck. I then did the trial VueScan only to find that they plastered a watermark all over the image. Bought VueScan and all seems to be well except I haven't learned the best approach to optioning for best images. Finding my way. The good news is that the scanner appears as new, came in original box, all parts, and holders were in original protective sleeve. It works. For $50, I think I did well. Eh, plus the VueScan $90.

Hi I'm hoping if someone here can help me out
I am planning to buy a Dimage 5400 (mark I) for my 35mm films
And I so happen to have a working old Mac. The OS that is currently running on it is 10.6.8 (snow leopard I believe). The problem is that even though the unit comes with the original software disc, I am afraid that it wouldn't work with the proper drivers. So after some research, I found this forum.

And the link you provided seems to be where everyone gets their drivers, the only problem is that I couldn't find the files anywhere in the site. After clicking link it will just direct me an window saying "ERR_CONNECTION_RESET"

Does anyone have the most recent driver for the original software !! Thank you

Reading back through this topic it looks like your best option is to purchase the VueScan software and use it with your current PC.

I finally gave up and purchased the VueScan software. ICE works.

If you're asking if it works as well as the original software, I can't say. I just purchased the scanner recently and had no experience with the original software.

This may be too old for your Mac, if I remember correctly it liked Mac Classic the best, sorry.

Just a quick update for my scanner!

I just bought an elite 5400 of an auction site, and since I am currently overseas only with my surface (win10) and mac pro with me I tried installing the software provided with the machine (I believe the version is 1.1.5).

I followed the tips from this site:

And now the scanner runs very smoothly on my surface pro!! I am very excited to scan my future pictures with this machine! It works like a charm~ I don't have any previous experience with film scanners (and just got into film photography), so I can't compare , but from reading threads online this scanner has high ratings right? Hope I made the right dissension buying this scanner!

Thanks to all the people who gave me replies and I will def try the scanner on my old mac(it has lightroom and photoshop) when I get back home.
