So I got around to buying a broken camera to swap LCD screens with my original A100. Put a battery and a card to see if the donor LCD screen was good, it is, and started taking some pics. I get an error code 0x59. The camera has to switched off after every exposure to reset the camera, however images are all good (except with the 18-70 kit lens, my beercan works great on it, go figure) Tried different compact flash cards, same error code. I have searched the web and this forum and cannot find a source for error codes and what they indicate.
I wouldn't send it in for repair or even attempt any major surgery. Thinking about keeping this one as an extra, the only problem that I can tell is having to turn the camera off to clear the code each time. And I have gotten it to work on three exposures with no code, but 90% of the time it needs to be reset.

It's a shutter timing error. It says the major cause is "1st curtain rebound XON sw contact NG"

Whatever that means
In 2012 after months of tests I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. I'm 46 and suddenly life makes sense. I don't mean to offend with my comments so please tell me if I do so I can put it right.

Thanks guys - I'll call and see what kind of fix this is. I'll use as it is anything major.
I am ready to move up to a newer model this year with HD video, so this will be a good one to keep in the car all of the time.
