I understand from SonyAlphaRoumours.com that Sony are making an announcement at 15:00 GMT about a new E mount camera and the suggestion is it will be their most expensive to date. We shall see.

I would like a new Alpha 7, not a most expensive camera ever.
A more ergonomic body would be nice. |

Tony Northrup reckons a curved sensor is on the way, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4agaDS_r94. We'll find out in an hour, I guess.

"The one never seen"
Sony's live stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0lLCqmHSSg I'm gonna guess this is an A7 series body that records UV and/or IR (menu switchable to be normal 'daylight' too) Or maybe one aimed at Astro shooters. Or perhaps ISO level 'ridiculous'. Maybe an f1.0 or f0.95 AF lens (is that even possible?) Okay, that is four guesses. Too late for them to rebrand the A7C as the A5 (but nobody would see that coming either). |

Curved sensor is the end of all lenses to date. Why go there, burn all bridges behind.... |

I think it would be an RX1R III - the II was launched just over 4 years ago. A fixed prime lens camera could cope with a curved sensor, and would be pricey (the Mark II is about £3k). |

SAR says it is to be called the Alpha A1 or ILCE-1. In Sony land the 1 designation means a new line ... and yet it is still apparently E-mount.

Sony "announced" the "One Mount" quite some time ago. Which is "E-Mount" BTW.
"One Mount. Connect seamlessly with E-mount. Compact and lightweight, E-mount connects APS-C to full-frame, Alpha mirrorless cameras to pro camcorders and entry level to high-end gear. Use full-frame lenses on APS-C bodies, and even attach E-mount lenses to professional camcorders." I would guess it's Sony's answer to the Fujifilm GFX 100. A 100MP ISO 1000000. Cost $11,000 US$. And a further guess would be that it looks like an A9II with an integrated grip. Similar to an Olympus OM-D E-M1X. Edited by LAbernethy - 26 January 2021 at 15:16 |

Alpha 1 50 MP at 30 FPS
The same old body. Didn't catching anything about the optical filter. I am guessing it won't have a snazzy new one like the Canon R5? Doesn't sound like it will do full-pixel readout for full-frame 4k either unlike the R5. Edited by QuietOC - 26 January 2021 at 16:10 |

Looks very nice, and very pricey. Bird Eye AF caught my eye.
