##Last updated 18/Feb/2014##
Hi Everyone Not sure on which section this needs to be in but I'd just thought I'd make a post on the different sites I've found so far that provide new parts for Sony camera's, so if your a diy repairer like myself these should be helpful as a starter for ten. I'd also like to say I'm in no way affiliated with any of these sites/companies, I've also not ordered from any as of yet (due to order from 4sony/4ourhouse in a few weeks for my top cover assemble for the A57. If anyone else has any other sites for parts please reply and I'll try and update this first post with them. (unless this post is against any forum rules?) ================================================================= Part Suppliers UK sites: 4sony 4ourhouse [URL=http://www.nedis.co.uk/[/URL] These are the same company, as I was sent to 4Sony by Sony UK when I asked them about obtaining the top cover assembly for my A57. The site its self isn't the most helpful if you like to see things, but if you give them a call and tell them what you want they will find it and send you a link (which is how I found 4ourhouse, as that was what I was sent). To help you find what you want consider using the sears site below as an initial reference for parts names and such. UK Service Sites These are just for information, i hold no affiliation with this sites and haven't used them so i cannot recommend them personally, i've just come across them on my journeys between here and Sony Communities UK UK Sony Service repair centre Regional Repair Centre (used to be BBS online) US Sites: Searspartsdirect This site is great for finding parts and giving you a name for a part, as it shows the cameras in a exploded parts diagram. The site its self is not the greatest for navigation as camera names/models are not always as expected, I often take the longer route of looking through the full model list (I've linked to the Sony general section) Sony Serviceplus not used this site much as I came across it from searching a part number of the sears site. but seems to be a Sony parts site? Encompass Parts (US)encompassparts Encompass Parts - i've not used this, but was advised to member Momech by Sony (also quoted on the Sony Support US page) Other sites quoted by Sony Support US fox-international andrewselectronics Union Electronic Distributors Dont forget to post any more sites that you have found for parts, and i'll update the OP. ==================================================================== Service Manuals Abit of a disclaimer for the next section, Dyxum or myself dont take any responsibility if you decided to take your equipment to pieces and you break or damage your equipment, or even kill yourself as there are parts within cameras and flashes which have the potential to cause death by electrocution. So if you decide to do any diy repair its on your own head. That said i've found a site which is dedicated to the repair of electronic items and provides technical manuals to aid in the service and repair. At the moment it seems that the site is legitimate and if it isn't then please contact our admin and we will remove the reference to this site if it is breaking any laws on copyright and the such. On this site you will find a large number of service documents for a larger number of Camera's/Flashes and Lenses along with a ton of other electrical goods. Elektrotanya some information to help with the site, Sony has a naming convention for its service documents, these are namely Level 1/2/3 documents. As far as i understand ... (any please correct me if i'm wrong) Level 1 - standard user manual Level 2 - Service manaul (dismantaling the items) Level 3 - Service manual (Electronic schematics) Mainly if your replacing parts or want to know how to dismantal something look for the Level 2 /LV2/LVL2 documents. Kind Regards Mark. ::Edit:: 23/09/2013 - Updated with a few more sites.::: ::Edit:: 18/02/2014 - Updated with Service Manual Site.::: ::Edit:: 28/07/2014 - Updated with a few more sites ::: Edited by bieomax - 28 July 2014 at 09:43 |

Very useful. I've moved it to Camera Talk as it is more likely to be seen there by those looking for parts. |

Thanks! I need a new LCD cover for my NEX-7 and that may save me a bunch.
Now I need a way to ID the part number... Lcd block PART NUMBER: A1857130A $66 is way better than the $169 I was quoted. THANKS! This just totally made my day! Edited by groovyone - 05 April 2013 at 16:04 |

I've never been able to figure out how to navigate the Sony ServicePlus site, anytime I enter a camera or flash part number I get a 'No results found' message. Anybody have any clues, or can give me the link or part numbers for the twin flash heads for the macro flash?

Rob use the following link https://www.servicesplus.sel.sony.com/sony-parts.aspx
Use search field "Model Prefix starts with" and enter, e.g. "HVL" then hit search and you will get a nice list with all flash part numbers ![]() |

Sweet, thanks for that
![]() $138 bucks a piece, that's doable. Next question is are they compatible with the MFC-1000? |

AFAIK both the Minolta macro ring flash 1200 as well as the macro twin flash 2400 use/share the same controller MFC-1000. And Sony HVL-MT24AM is identical to the previous Minolta version.

sort of. the twin flash part of things are the same , but sony dropped support for the (minolta) ring flash ,leaving off the socket. presumably to try and temp you into buying their £300 L.E.D P.O.S ! |
